Somatic Practice

Somatic practice is about having a closer relationship with our bodies, listening deeply to the body in order to find answers to the bodily needs and communicative desires through internal bodily awareness. Somatic practice is a creative interplay that heightens both the sensory and motor awareness. The process is of a personal bodily experience of re-patterning,  learning newly, moving with ease and to perform with greater vitality and expressiveness. This involves listening to the body and responding to these sensations by consciously altering movement habits and movement choices. Practices of somatic movement education and therapy encompass postural and movement evaluation, communication and guidance through touch and words, experiential anatomy and imagery.
